SUPERB ROYAL FLYING CORPS DOCUMENTS / PHOTOGRAPH GROUPING

A truly rare historical grouping.

A large lot of letters, photographs, press clippings & insignia to a Great war R.F.C pilot all contained in a leather writing case.
Grouping belonged to :
Lieutenant Cyril Frank Hunt R.F.C.
LT C.HUNT ,was born in Richmond ,London and prior to service in the R.F.C he had been an officer cadet ( possibly Artist Rifles )

LT .HUNT served for 2 years in France and despite his young age he was specially selected to take part in an aerial bombing raid in to Germany but the raid was cancelled due to the armistice approaching ( written details confirm Hunt was serving with 97 Squadron at the war end ) .
lot includes several large stunning photographs many letters including one wrote whilst flying from 3000 feet .....

Condition : the leather case is in poor condition and the stitching has dried out and separated this appears to be due to been stored some where very dry , but the up shot of that is the contents are very fine with no damp.

Lot includes LT Hunts officers quality R.F.C cap badge with both blades intact.
The letters are mixed up ,some in wrong envelopes and need sorting out ,as always we leave lots as they come to us and the new owner can have that pleasure.

Lieutenant Cyril Frank Hunt having survived active service on the western front was tragically killed in a flying accident in 1919 - he was not yet twenty years old.
